The People's Question
In February, Crikey.com.au and OurSay gave you the opportunity to get your question asked in House of Representatives through a secret MP.
Crikey.com.au featured a new reader's question each week, and looked at where/how and why of the issue.
After voting closed, it was revealed the secret MP was Adam Bandt, the member for Melbourne. He plans to take the top question on the OurSay site (which is about end-of-life decision-making) into parliament house on Wednesday the 14th of March. Stay tuned to our website, Facebook page and Twitter for updates.
The Question
When can we expect the standard of parliamentary debate to be raised to somewhere close to that expected of professional, educated and adult people?
I can answer that question Brad- NEVER! The polititians have no intention of helping you. Their job is to Destract, Divide, Divert, Disinform- you can almost certainly do the opposite of what is said and you will be closer to the TRUTH. Do not play their game-Do your own research, go to the library, tune into decent talkbacks in your ute, these people do not serve you! I,ll save you time, join the CEC- and Google Max Igan-Crowhouse!
I think the answer is that when the quality of political journalism of the shock jocks on talk back radio improves and the level of reasoning by journalists in the Murdoch press develops to better reasoning then the standard will remain abysmal.
