The Question
Will you promise to immediately halt Fluoridation if you form government in Queensland? Anna Bligh was demonstrably wrong when she stated "There is no evidence that any disease or illness or condition is more prevalent in Townsville, or Sydney or Melbourne than it is in any city without fluoride." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1SB1_0_L3Q Townsville Health Service District residents, Fluoridated for over 40 years, are admitted at a higher rate than people from other parts of Queensland for potentially avoidable conditions including asthma, congestive heart failure, convulsions and epilepsy, congestive obstructive pulmonary disease, dental conditions (***), ear, nose and throat conditions, and pyelonephritis. http://www.health.qld.gov.au/townsville/Documents/executive/e_csp_bgp3_demogr.pdf A number of these diseases are associated with and/or exacerbated by Fluoride, see www.fluoridealert.org In a community forum in 2005, you, as the then Brisbane Lord Mayor Mr Campbell Newman, said you would not support water fluoridation because a third of residents rejected mass medication. You also said "It's up to medical and dental professional associations to make the case. In 1997 they had the opportunity to make their case and the results show they were not able to do that." You have also stated you want to save taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars wasted on Labor schemes such as Fluoridation.

Just to be clear, the program has hardly cost 100's of millions of dollars. If anything there has been a woeful lack of underfunding to make sure those places adding fluoride are doing so safely and appropriately. That's quite a bit of exaggeration. For example, the State has committed $25 million to support local councils, see this website: http://www.dlgp.qld.gov.au/grants-and-funding/queensland-fluoridation-capital-assistance-program.html The question is whether the actual money that has been spent (far less than 100's of millions) is more or less than the cost of the dental bills that could be reduced through fluoridation. Isn't that worth studying?

Dr Doug Everingham, former Federal Health Minister and major influence on WHO, is an active campaigner for the immediate worldwide end to fluoridation.
Hey Mr Campbell, I see that Daniel published the article "Newman to answer your questions" in the Brisbane Times. Just not sure how serious you are about addressing Fluoride. Well see I guess. Please don't do what Anna did. She gave us a scripted response…in a cosy setting, talked in a soft monotone voice, and feed us more lies...all while we were entering school holidays. Crafty! Why do I have to pay water rates (to a private company) to add Fluoride and then pay again to remove it with a filter system?
Industrial waste from the phosphate fertiliser factories to drink, cook and bathe in? S7 classification? Good for teeth? Yeah, assuming that we're just a walking set of teeth without any other soft tissues that an S7 neurotoxic corrosive poison will miss?! All these CLAIMS of being 'safe and effective' rubbish - without proof. Give us the long-term safety data; the data for 'effectiveness'. There IS no safety data. Lies, lies, lies and spin. Follow the money trail. When will this archaic, barbaric practice, STOP.

Dear Can Do Campbell, getting rid of these fluorosilicic acid/silicofluoride poisons (& co-contaminants of lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium et al) had better be your first cab off the rank if you are elected - I and many other people I'm sure have sent you extensive credible evidence from scientists worldwide as to the effects of these dangerously corrosive and cumulative toxic waste pollutants on our health and the health of our environment. The health and safety of Queenslanders is in your hands, LET US ONCE AGAIN BECOME THE SMART STATE AS WE WERE PREVIOUSLY before we were forced to consume these toxic waste pollutants in our water supplies hence also contaminating all our foods, beverages, beer and everything else. Fight for the health of every baby, child, woman and man and our pets and wildlife and our total environment. I shall also remind you (not only of all the evidence of harm to health) but the connection of these silicofluorides to crime and violence - our sharp rise in violence, attacks, stabbings, shootings, glassings, murders must not be ignored. I have sent you much evidence of this also.
